Individual freedom and the position of the supernatural in Ancient Greek and modern American tragedy
The purpose of this master thesis study is to claim that in the tragedy form, it is not possible to interpret all the acts through a fatalistic reading, whether it is an Ancient Greek play or a modern play. It suggests that the psychological conditions of the characters have the major importance in the course of the events throughout the plays, instead of supernatural elements.
