Diffusion of Pure and Hybrid Forms of a Practice: Language of Instruction in Turkish Universities, 1983-2014
Authors:

What remains less explored is the emergence of distinct forms of a novel practice and the interdependencies in their diffusion. In this study, we make a distinction between the pure version of a practice and ensuing hybrid variants and investigate how diffusion processes unfold for these alternative practice forms. Our empirical investigation in the Turkish higher education field demonstrates ...

Revenue management with minimax regret negotiations
Authors:
Publisher and Date:(Pergamon-Elsevıer Scıence Ltd, 2016)We study the dynamic bilateral price negotiations from the perspective of a monopolist seller. The maximum surplus in a finite-time interval for a discrete-time risk model with exchangeable, dependent claim occurrences
Authors:
Publisher and Date:(Wiley, 2019)This paper investigates a discrete-time risk model that involves exchangeable dependent loss generating claim occurrences and compound binomially distributed aggregate loss amounts. First, a general framework is presented to derive the distribution of a surplus sequence using the model. This framework is then applied to obtain the distribution of any function of a surplus sequence in a finite-time interval. Specifically, the distribution of the maximum surplus is obtained under nonruin conditions. ...

Antecedents and performance outcomes of value-based selling in sales teams: a multilevel, systems theory of motivation perspective
Authors:
Publisher and Date:(Springer, 2020)Firms are increasingly deploying a value-based selling (VBS) approach in their sales organizations to drive growth for new offerings. Drawing from the systems theory of motivation, we examine motivational mechanisms at two levels-salesperson and sales team-to understand how to motivate, and benefit from, VBS. Using multisource data (i.e., salespeople, managers, archival performance) from 70 sales teams ...
