Kadın tiyatrosuna imkan olarak Clown

Abstract

Bu calismada eril bakis tarafindan olusturulan ve izleyicinin algisina kodlanmis kadin imgelerinin degisim ve donusum ihtimallerinin arastirilmasi amaclanmistir. Kadinin sahnedeki temsiline dair ilk durak olan Antik Yunan'dan guncel kadin clown’lara uzanan inceleme kadinin tiyatro ve clown gelenegindeki yeri ve feminist hareketin tiyatroya etkisiyle kadinin sahnedeki gelisimi uzerine tarihsel bir cerceve sunmaktadir. Buradan hareketle kadinin kendi temsili icin clown yonteminin olanaklari ortaya koyulmustur. Stereotiplesmis kadin imgelerini merkeze alan bir clown performansinin olusturulma sureclerinin ve seyirciden aldigi tepkilerin soz konusu kadin imgeleriyle baglantili olarak incelenmesiyle calisma sonlandirilmistir.

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the possibilities of transformation and alteration of the images of woman on stage which are created by male gaze and encoded to spectator?s perception. Ranging from Ancient Greece, the first stage for women's representation, to contemporary woman clowns, this study provides a historical account of women's place in the tradition of theater and clown followed by the impact of feminism on theater. Accordingly the possibilities of the clown as a method for representation of self for women have been presented. The thesis is concluded by analyzing the processes of creation of a clown performance concerning the stereotypical images of women and the responses of the audience to this performance in conjunction with the aforementioned images.
