Twitter, dönüşen kamusal alan ve kanaat oluşumu

Abstract

Bu tez çalışması, Twitter'ın kamusal alanın dönüşümünde ve kanaatlerin şekillenip dolaşımında nasıl bir rol oynadığına odaklanmaktadır. Bu amaçla, Twitter'ın kamusal alan ve demokratik pratiklerimizi ne şekilde değiştirdiğine, Twitter'ın kanaatlerin oluşturulmasında, dolaşıma girmesinde yeni bir oluşum / dönüşüm mü yoksa sadece bir kuru gürültü mü olduğu sorularına cevaplar ve değerlendirmeler ortaya konulmuştur. Bunu yaparken, literatürdeki temel tartışma ve görüşlere yer verilmiştir. Çalışmayı daha somut bir hale getirmek için de örnek bir olay incelemesi yapılarak, olayın hem medya hem de Twitter yansımalarına bakılarak değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.Bu tez çalışması, toplam dört bölümden oluşmaktadır; İlk bölümde öncelikle kamusal alan ve kanaat oluşumu kavramları tarihsel bir gelişim ve değişim çerçevesinde ele alınmış, Habermas başta olmak üzere bu alandaki görüşlere ve tartışmalara yer verilmiştir.İkinci bölümde ise, internet ile birlikte gelişip hızla büyümeye devam eden Twitter başta olmak üzere sosyal paylaşım ağları, kanaat oluşumu ve kamusal alan bağlamında değerlendirilip farklı görüşlere ve tartışmalara değinilmiştir.Üçüncü bölümde, tüm bu tartışmalardan görüşlerden yola çıkarak, örnek olay incelemesi yapılmıştır. İncelenen örnek olayın hem internet medyası tarafındaki yansımalarına bakılıp hem de bu olay kapsamında Twitter?da paylaşılan içerikler, görüşler ve kanaatler incelenerek değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.Sonuç bölümünde ise tüm bu araştırmaların, farklı görüşlerin ve tartışmaların kapsamında örnek olay analizi etrafında Twitter?ın kamusal alanın dönüşümünde ve kanaatlerin şekillenip dolaşımında nasıl bir rol oynadığıyla ilgili sonuca varılmıştır.

This dissertation study focuses on how Twitter play a role in the transformation of the public space and formation and circulation of opinions. For this purpose, it presents answers for and evaluation on the questions how Twitter changes the public space and our democratic practices and whether Twitter is a new formation / transformation or just an all show and no go in the formation and the circulation of opinions. In doing this, it includes major discussions and opinions in the literature. To make the study more perceptible, a case study has been used and evaluations have been made based on the reflections of the case on the media and Twitter.This dissertation study consists of four chapters: The first chapter addresses the concepts of public space and formation of opinion have been addressed within a framework of an historical development and evolution and includes the discussions and opinions in this area with those of Habermas in the first place.The second chapter evaluates the social networking sites, particularly Twitter, that continue to grow rapidly in parallel with Internet, within the context of formation of democratic opinion and public space and presents various opinions and debates.The third chapter presents a case study based upon all these opinions and debates. It not only looks at the reflections of the case studied on the internet media but also includes evaluations with the examination of the contents posted and opinions expressed on Twitter for the case.In conclusion, around the case study within the scope of all these studies and various opinions, a conclusion is drawn on how Twitter plays a role in the transformation of the public space and the formation and circulation of the democratic opinion.
