| dc.description.abstract | People's Republic of China, increasing in almost every aspect, especially after Cold War, lately became one of the most announced states on international basis. With its boosting economy, to meet needs of its gigantic population is now improving its relations with almost all of the countries in the world.Communist China that is founded by Mao at 1949, adopting Marxist-Leninist principles, periodically also has featured realistic (pragmatic) practices. Especially, by the practices adopted during Mao period, which was announced as Mao Doctrine, China followed an inward-oriented industrialization model. During this period, inward developments affected China's foreign policy, also.With its vast area, gigantic and homogenized demographic structure, booming economy and its deep historical roots, while trying to capture deserved position in today's world, China needs to pay attention to above mentioned subjects. After being a member of World Trade Organization, its developing economy integrated to world economy. With a population about 1.500.000.000, China becomes both a great market and never has difficulty of having fresh manpower. Its four thousand years of history and experience, offers itself a projection towards future.Since 1949, China?s foreign policy has continuously changed its direction, according to its historical heritage, current ideas, nationalism, ideology and structure of international ground. Especially after Mao period, beginning with late 1970's, China?s foreign policy started to be open and many-sided. After that China improved its relations with all possible regional and global powers and unions. After China joined UN and WTO and regionally ASEAN and SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), its foreign policy became more important for the rest of the world. Furthermore, these organizations are also apparatus to solve the problems which are evaluated as threat by China. Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an example for that. This organization played an important role while solving China-Russia border problems. China, also uses SCO for solving East Turkistan problem.Although, China, Iran relations bases so early, it began to develop after 1980.The mutual visits between two countries after 1980?s, has developed the political, commercial and cultural relations. Relations are based on mutually beneficial base.Especially, at the 21st century, China needs so much energy parallel to its booming industry that it becomes outwards- dependent. For this reason China and Iran relationship bases on energy. China, importing 17% of its needed crude petroleum from Iran, supports Iran?s infrastructure and technology studies. Trade between the two countries is improving due to mutual agreements. China is trying to guarantee its now and then energy need will be supplied by having billions of dollars-future contracts with Iran. Iran is focused on having the necessary technology and weapons for its army, which is not possible to be obtained from western countries because of the sanctions.Another, relation between Iran and China that is followed by criticism and worry of USA and Western countries is about nuclear energy. China supports Iran's peaceful nuclear studies. But USA and some Western Countries think Iran may be able to enrich uranium and produce nuclear weapons with China's aids. In this situation China follows an attentive policy and does not want to seem to be at one side; either Tehran or Washington.
