    Design and Implementation of a Smart Medicine Regulator for Elderly People With Parkinson and Alzheimer Diseases

    Parkinson ve Alzheimer, esas olarak beyin performansını, özellikle de sinir sistemini etkileyen ilerleyici hastalıklardır. İlk başta, Parkinson hastalığı hastayı etkileyeb ilir ve titreme veya sallanma gib i kontrolsüz davranışlara, denge kaybı ve kasların ve vücudun sertliğine ve otomatik hareketlerde zorluğa neden olabilir. Kalıtsal olarak geçebilen bu rahatsızlıklarda, semptomlar her geçen gün yavaş yavaş ilerlemekte olup, özellikle orta yaşlı ve yaşlı kişiler etkilenmektedir. İstatistikler, dünya çapında 10 milyondan fazla kişiye Parkinson teşhisi konulduğunu göstermektedir. Öte yandan, Alzheimer hastalığı, beyin fonksiyonlarının etkinliğinde zayıflık olarak biline n parkinson'un nedenlerinde n biridir ve aynı zamanda beyin hücrelerinin ölümü olarak da bilinir. Bu da anıların silinmesine ve geçmiş anıların ya da bilgiler i n unutulma s ına neden olur. Böylece hasta bazen yapması gereken işle r i, yakınlarını veya alınacak ilaçları unutabilir. Alzheimer hastalığı tehlikelidir çünkü hasta istem dışı zararlı eylemlerde bulunabilir, Başta yaşlıları etkileyen bu hastalık için istatistikler, dünya çapında yaklaşık 44 milyon kişiye Alzheimer hastalığı teşhisi konulduğunu göstermektedir. Bu tez, düzenli olarak sıvı şurup tedavisine ihtiyaç duyan Parkinson (PD) ve Alzheimer (AD) hastaları için akıllı bir ilaç hatırlatıcısının tasarımını ve uygulamasını sunar. Cihaz, sistemi kontrol eden bir Arduino ATmega328P'ye ve hastadan doğru zamanda tam doz hacmini almasını sağlayan bir ekrana sahiptir ve ilaç hatası riskini azaltır. Cihaz ilaç kabının varlığını algılayarak hastanın ilacı boş bir kaptan veya yanlış kaptan almasını engeller. Ek olarak cihaz, ilaçların yanlış sıcaklıklara maruz kalmasını önleyerek hasta güvenliğini artıracak şekilde tasarlanmışt ır. Bunlara ek olarak, sistemin da hili hatırlatıcısı, bakıcının oda sıcaklığını izlemesi için uygun bir yol sağlayan harici bir sıcaklık göstergesini kullanır. Cihaz, hastalara ilaç alımla r ını yönetmele r i, yaş a m kalitelerini artırmaları ve ilaç hatası riskini potansiyel olarak azaltmaları için sezgisel ve güvenilir bir yol sağlamak üzere tasarlanmıştır.     Transducer Technologies for Biosensors and Their Wearable Applications

    The development of new biosensor technologies and their active use as wearable devices have offered mobility and flexibility to conventional western medicine and personal fitness tracking. In the development of biosensors, transducers stand out as the main elements converting the signals sourced from a biological event into a detectable output. Combined with the suitable bio-receptors and the miniaturization of readout electronics, the functionality and design of the transducers play a key role in the construction of wearable devices for personal health control. Ever-growing research and industrial interest in new transducer technologies for point-of-care (POC) and wearable bio-detection have gained tremendous acceleration by the pandemic-induced digital health transformation. In this article, we provide a comprehensive review of transducers for biosensors and their wearable applications that empower users for the active tracking of biomarkers and personal health parameters.

    Seamlessly Integrable Optoelectronics for Clinical Grade Wearables

    Health and fitness wearables present viable solutions for public wellbeing by providing remote personal control and clinical intervention through telemedicine networks. Due to their noninvasive and continuous vital sign monitoring, optoelectronic wearables are incorporated in number of studies to identify the onset and progression of the Coronavirus pandemic, and institutions deployed patient surveillance networks based on them. Today's optoelectronic wearables rely on rigid light emitting and sensing technologies that are vulnerable to motion artifacts due to discontinuous skin contact. However, wearable-based digital health systems require the extraction of clinical grade data for the actionable outcomes. Therefore, optoelectronic technologies that provide clinical grade data through seamless skin integration are in high demand. The seamlessly integrable optoelectronic technologies for wearable based digital health solutions are discussed here. The review of highlighted wearable optoelectronic materials and technologies provides a benchmark, therefore helps to define pathways through the realization of clinical grade wearables rising as strong contenders for the public health strategies.

    On-Demand Continuous-Variable Quantum Entanglement Source for Integrated Circuits

    Integration of devices generating non-classical states (such as entanglement) into photonic circuits is one of the major goals in achieving integrated quantum circuits (IQCs). This is demonstrated successfully in recent decades. Controlling the non-classicality generation in these micron scale devices is also crucial for the robust operation of the IQCs. Here, we propose a micron-scale quantum entanglement device whose nonlinearity (so the generated non classicality) can be tuned by several orders of magnitude via an applied voltage without altering the linear response. Quantum emitters (QEs), whose level-spacing can be tuned by voltage, are embedded into the hotspot of a metal nanostructure (MNS). QE-MNS coupling introduces a Fano resonance in the nonlinear response. Nonlinearity, already enhanced extremely due to localization, can be controlled by the QEs' level-spacing. Nonlinearity can either be suppressed or be further enhanced by several orders. Fano resonance takes place in a relatively narrow frequency window so that similar to meV voltage-tunability for QEs becomes sufficient for a continuous turning on/off of the non-classicality. This provides as much as 5 orders of magnitude modulation depths.
