Nur-u Osmaniye Külliyesi Tarihsel Belgeler Işığında Külliyenin Yapım Süreci

Abstract

Sultan Mahmud I'in saltanatı sırasında yapımına başlanıp, padişahın vefatıyla yerine geçen kardeşi Sultan Osman III tarafından tamamlatılan Nur-u Osmaniye külliyesi dahilindeki yapıların mimarlık ve sanat tarihi açısından, tarihsel belgeler yardımıyla incelendiği çalışmada, daha önce farklı araştırmacılar tarafından çalışıldığını bildiğimiz, TOEM ilavesi olarak yayınlanan Tarih-i Cami-i Şerif-i Nur-u Osmani risalesi dışında, Topkapı Sarayı Arşivi'nde yapılan araştırma neticesinde ulaşılan belgelerin bir kısmı kullanılmıştır. Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi belgelerinin içerikleri çalışma konusu dışında kaldığından, bu belgeler çalışmada incelenmemiş, arşiv numaraları belirtilerek kısaca tanıtılmıştır.Tarihsel belgelerin tanıtıldığı ikinci bölümde ayrıca, bu belgelerden yararlanan araştırmacıların bir listesi verilmiştir. Külliyenin yerleşim özellikleri, tarihçesi ve yapılarının incelendiği üçüncü bölümde; inşaatta çalışanlar, yapımda, bezemede ve tefrişte kullanılan malzemeler, risalede kullanılan terimler, külliyenin su ihtiyacının sağlanması, külliyeye tahsis edilen vakıflar konularında belgelerden yararlanılmıştır. Bu bölümde ayrıca cami avlusunda yer alan ve Konstantin'e ait olduğu belirtilen lahit de incelenmiştir. Risale ve TSA belgeleri ile yapılan değerlendirmenin yer aldığı sonuç bölümü ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Belgelerde külliye inşaatının başladığı, sürdüğü ve bittiği tarihler, malzeme ve işçiler için yapılan masraflar, çalışan işçi gruplar, yapılarda kullanılan malzeme çeşitleri vb. konularla ilgili bilgilere ulaşılmıştır.Birinci kaynak olarak belgelere başvurulmuş, belge çözümlemesi sonucu elde edilen veriler kullanılarak metin oluşturulmuş ve bazı yapı birimleriyle ilgili olarak belgelerde ulaşılamayan bilgiler için, günümüz yayınları kullanılmıştır.

In the study where structures, within the Nur-u Osmaniye complex the construction of which was started during the reign of Sultan Mahmud I and was completed by his successor and brother, Sultan Osman III, upon the sultan's death, are examined in terms of architecture and art history through historical documents, apart from the Tarih-i Cami-i Serif-i Nur-u Osmani published as TOEM insert and which we know has been studies previously by various researchers, some of the documents accessed as the result of a search in the Topkapı Palace Archives were used. Because the content of the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive documents are not related to the topic of the study, those documents were not examined, however, were shortly introduced giving their archive numbers.In the second part where historical documents are presented a list of researchers making use of these documents are also given. In part three where the layout characteristics of the complex, its history and its structures are studied; documents related to those people who worked in the construction, materials used in the construction, decoration and furnishing, terms used in the tract, provision of water needs of the complex and trusts allocated for the complex were made use of. In this part additionally, the tomb located in the mosque's courtyard, said to belong to Konstantin was also studied. The study was completed with the conclusion section where the tract and the TSA is included. In the documents, information such as the dates the construction of the complex were started, continued and completed, the expenses made for the materials and workers, the worker groups employed and types of materials used for the structures could be obtained.As the primary source the documents were referred to and using the data obtained by the analyses of the documents the text was formed and for information regarding certain structural units which could not be found in the documents current publications were used.
