Kapadokya Bölgesindeki 9-13. Yüzyıllar Arasına Tarihlenen Duvar Resimlerinin Korunmasına Yönelik Yaklaşım ve Uygulamalar

Abstract

Kapadokya bölgesindeki 9-13. yüzyıllar arasına tarihlenen duvar resimlerinin koruma-onarım süreci 1960'larda başlamış olup günümüzde de devam etmektedir. Yüzlerce yapıda duvar resimleri barındıran ve çok az sayıda gerçekleştirilen koruma-onarım çalışmaları içinden yedi tanesi değerlendirilmiştir. 1962-1695 yılları arasında gerçekleştirilen Gümüşler Manastırı duvar resimleri, 1972-80 ve 2011-(devam ediyor) arasında gerçekleştirilen Tokalı Kilise duvar resimleri, 1980-90 arasında gerçekleştirilen Karanlık Kilise duvar resimleri, 1997-2003 arasında gerçekleştirilen Elmalı Kilise duvar resimleri, 2007-2011 yılları arasında gerçekleştirilen Eski Andaval-Konstantin&Helena Kilise'si duvar resimleri, 2007-2013 yılları arasında gerçekleştirilen Kırk Martirler Kilise'si duvar resimleri ve son olarak 2014-2016 yılları arasında gerçekleştirilen Üzümlü Kilise duvar resimlerinin koruma-onarım çalışmaları incelenmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir. Kapadokya bölgesinde gerçekleştirilen duvar resimlerinin korunması ve onarılması çalışmalarında yapılan uygulamalarda birbirinden farklı yöntemler benimsenmiş ancak bunların olumlu/olumsuz sonuçlarına ait herhangi bir değerlendirme yapılmamıştır. Bu nedenle tezin amacı doğrultusunda Kapadokya bölgesinde gerçekleştirilmiş olan duvar resmi koruma-onarım çalışmaları incelenmiş, koruma-onarım konusunun ele alınış biçimleri arasındaki farklılıklar ve zaman içinde değişim gösteren koruma yaklaşımları ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.

The conservation-restoration process of the wall paintings dated between the 9-13th centuries, in the Cappadocia region started in the 1960s and continues today. Within the scope of this thesis, seven of the few wall painting conservation-restoration works carried out in the region were examined and evaluated. These projects are; conservation works of the Gümüşler Monastery wall paintings realized between 1962-1695, conservation project of the wall paintings of the Tokalı Church realized between 1972-80 and 2011- (ongoing), conservation project of the wall paintings of the Dark Church realized between 1980-90, conservation project of the wall paintings of the Elmalı Church realized between 1997-2003, conservation project of the wall paintings of the Old Andaval-Konstantin & Helena Church realized between 2007- 2011, conservation project of the wall paintings of the Forty Martyr's Church realized between 2007 and 2013, and the conservation project of the Üzümlü Church wall paintings realized between 2014-2016. Different methods have been carried out in the practices of the projects of the preservation and restoration of wall paintings in the Cappadocia region, but no evaluation has been made regarding to their positive or negative results. For this reason, with the purpose of the thesis, through the examining 7 selected projects, to identify the differences observed the conservation-restoration implementation and conservation approaches that changed over time.
