Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the lifestyles, habits and practices of the transhumants imagine communities in the everyday life. Therefore, based on Henri Lefebvre's 'everyday life' and Benedict Anderson's 'imagined communities' concepts, I conducted interviews with thirty people in fifteen highlands in the Eastern Black Sea Region using in-depth interview data technique. I analyzed the data in the interviews with the theme analysis method by finding and establishing common points. While questioning the practices, routines and rituals of the transhumants in their daily lives, I also focused on their relations with each other and tried to examine what components they come together with. As a result, in each highland where the Black Sea region identity is predominantly felt in everyday life, the transhumants come together with food, physical geography, language, history and festivities and each highland creates a community within itself. In addition, different communities in different highlands come together and create a larger community, especially thanks to the partnerships established by the Black Sea identity, similar geographical conditions and transhumance culture.
